I joke about combining knitting and stained glass... I present to you this tall stained glass knitting needle storage vase. A great vessel to store your tall fiber related things such as knitting needles, scissors, weaving loom shuttles... even your reading glasses!
Created with a clear texture hammered glass and great ombre shades of purple and grape glass. Vintage green metal #8 knitting needles are literally cut and soldered into the front of this vase, giving it a decidedly unique look. The needles are permanently embedded so they just look pretty!
The vase measures 4.5" wide by 3.5" deep and approx. 9.25" tall. I've added a rectangle of white felt to the bottom to protect the glass from breaking should something fall into it. The felt is removable.
This needle vase is created in the copper foil method of stained glass construction. The solder lines of this container are left in their natural silvery state and polished to a glow. Rubber bump-ons are affixed to the base to keep the vase from sliding on your table top.
